Privacy Policy
asktube lets you have a conversation with your own YouTube subscriptions and playlists. This policy explains what we access, what we store, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The short version: we work only with the library you choose, and we don't sell your data — ever.
1. Who we are
asktube ("asktube", "we", "us", "our") is operated by MEMEXAI TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED, a company registered in Bangalore, India. We provide a web application at asktube.xyz that helps you ask questions across the YouTube channels and playlists you follow. 2. asktube uses YouTube API Services
asktube uses YouTube API Services to access your YouTube subscriptions, playlists, and the public metadata of the videos in the sources you choose. By using asktube, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read both.
3. Information we access
When you sign in with Google, we request limited, read-only access to your YouTube account so the product can work. We use the youtube.readonly scope, along with your basic profile and email, and nothing more:

We only ever access sources you explicitly choose. Our access is read-only: we never read private videos you have not selected, and we never create, modify, upload, or post anything on your behalf.
4. How we use information
We use the information above solely to provide and improve the user-facing features of asktube — to authenticate you, build your personal library, run searches and conversations over the sources you follow, and keep the service reliable and secure. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
5. How the AI agent works (and where your data goes)
The conversational agent runs through Bodhi App, a bring-your-own-AI layer. You connect your own AI model, and the keys for that model stay on your machine — they are never sent to or stored by asktube.
To answer your questions, the agent sends relevant video metadata from your library (such as titles and descriptions of the sources you chose) to the AI model you have connected. Depending on your choice, that model may run locally on your own device or be a remote AI provider you connect with your own account and key. In either case, the destination is controlled by you, not by asktube, and any remote provider you choose handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy. We never send your data to an AI provider of our own.
6. What we store, and for how long
We store only what's needed to provide the service:
- Your account record and the list of sources you've chosen to follow.
- Indexed video metadata for those sources, so the product can answer quickly.
- Basic, privacy-respecting operational information needed to keep the service running and secure.
We keep YouTube data only as needed to provide the service, and refresh or delete it on an ongoing basis so that what we hold stays consistent with what's on YouTube:

7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only data transfer that takes place is the one you direct: sending your library's video metadata to the AI model you connected (see section 5). We do not allow third parties to serve advertisements through asktube, and we do not use your data for any form of advertising or retargeting. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety and security of users and the service, or in connection with a business transfer, in which case we will continue to protect your information consistent with this policy.
8. Limited Use of Google user data
asktube's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above; we do not transfer it except as you direct or as the policy permits; we do not use it for advertising; and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security, to comply with law, or as otherwise permitted by that policy.
9. Scope and isolation
Every result and answer is derived only from your chosen library. You never see other users' data, and the product never searches the whole of YouTube on your behalf — only the sources you've added.
10. Your choices and rights
- Add or remove any channel or playlist from your library at any time.
- Revoke asktube's access to your Google data at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or by disconnecting your account inside asktube.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing hello@asktube.xyz.
11. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we store against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect in the first place.
12. Children
asktube is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app and ask you to consent to the updated policy before your data is used in any newly described way.
